Mother's Day Gifts | Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! This year, we want to celebrate one mom who's very important to our company - Valerie Porter. That's our CEO, Tim's mom.

Have you ever wondered why our prices end in $.64?

It's all because of a mother. Valerie Porter grew up in a small town in Wales, UK. Her childhood home was #64. She spent her whole childhood in that house. When she was 19, an American man came to Wales to visit. They fell in love at first sight.

After dating for a few weeks, he had to return to the US. Upon his return to the States, he missed his Welsh princess so much that he purchased a one-way plane ticket and sent it to her. She packed a wedding dress and flew to Arizona to marry him.

After marrying her American man, Valerie became known as "Mom" to eight children. She gave up her personal dreams to raise her family. Throughout her life, she volunteered with her local library and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a fixture of love and service in her community and to her children.

The number 64 was heavily entwined in her life and the lives of her family. Not only was her house #64 (as seen in the photo), but her family referred to that house as simply "64." her son commissioned a sign for her home in Arizona with the number 64, she passed away in her 64th year, and it was 64 degrees the day of her funeral.

Tim decided to end our prices in 64 to honor his mother, Valerie.

This Mother's Day, we're celebrating all mothers, moms, and mother figures. 64 is just one way our CEO honors his mom. Today is a great day to honor the moms in your life. As Tim said, "I cannot think of anything that has had a greater impact on this world than mothers."

If you're a mom, all of us here at Hot Cup Factory want to say thank you! You're doing the most admirable work, and you deserve the best Mother's Day gifts.
